The European Commission has confirmed over CZK 7 bln for transportation projects in the Czech Republic. According to the Road and Highway Directorate of the Czech Republic, EU will support the D1 highway project in Kroměříž – Říkovice section and the R55 speedway in Skalka – Hulín section for CZK 6 bln. EU will also invest roughly CZK 970 mln into the project for the upgrade of the western wing of the Prague Main Railway Station. The Minister of Transportation, Pavel Dobeš, has stated that the EU is currently looking at 12 further transportation projects.
