OECD President Angel Gurría has stated in an interview for daily Lidové noviny that the Czech Republic is among the less endangered parts of Europe. The banking system in CR is less vulnerable and the currency is stable. According to Mr. Gurría, the crisis in the euro area became deeper due to the postponement of Greek bankruptcy and the pretended solidarity. Mr. Gurria also highly appreciated the new Strategy on Competitiveness of the Czech Republic.

Mr. Gurría predicts stagnation for the Czech economy. He believes that all OECD countries will see attenuation or only moderate growth this year, as well as in the next two years.
