Czech Republic at APTA`S EXPO 2011
Held every three years in conjunction with the American Public Transportation Association`s (APTA) Annual Meeting, EXPO is public transportation`s premier showcase of technology, products, and services. EXPO is the platform from where the public transit industry moves forward. Czech Republic, as a traditional producer of high quality vehicles, transit equipment, supplies to railway sector, communications equipment and many other products to be used in the publix transportation sector, is preparing for the following APTA`S EXPO, where it will be presented by CzechTrade Chicago office. The APTA`S EXPO 2011 is going to be held in October 2011 and will be hosting the distributors, importers, exporters, professionals and decision makers focusing on public transportation as well as suppliers of transportation equipment, products and technologies. Traditionally, about 15,000 decision makers in the transportation industry come and visit APTA`S EXPO, which is only held every three years. We looking forward to seeing you at our stand again. INEKON GROUP, a.s.
The INEKON Group was established in the year 1990 as a purely private company. The original business activities, especially export of rail vehicles and import of raw materials for chemical industry, soon developed into a commercial and production holding focused on three areas of business activity:
- rail vehicle and railway tracks
- chemical products and waste water treatment
- export of investment units
INEKON Group has a design studio for rail vehicle (company KOLEJOVÁ DOPRAVA) and a production site in Ostrava (INEKON TRAMS).
INEKON TRAMS continues in deliveries of trams started by INEKON GROUP after its creation in 1991. The trams from the production lines of ČKD Praha were sold to Brno, to Slovakia, Hungary and Russia. In cooperation with Škoda Plzeň, tens of Škoda-INEKON trams were supplied not only to the Czech Republic but also to the American towns of Portland and Tacoma at the end of the nineties.
Currently, INEKON TRAMS offers three types of new trams - TRIO, SUPERIOR a PENTO - and their modifications. We also cooperate in the modernization of used trams not only in our country but also abroad, e. g. in Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary. Our capacities and experience are utilized in the construction of rail tracks.

For more than 15 years we offer ticketing, checking and RFID systems for passenger dispatching (stationary and mobile devices, vehicle validators), systems for the mobile on-board goods selling as well as customer care lines and voice self services. We have also long-term vast experience in the fields of design, development and consultation regarding the chip-cards adopting systems. One of our large area of interest resulted in the tailor-made systems, mainly for handhelds, smartphones and industrial computers. Our most valuable customers are Czech Railways, Czech Airlines, Veolia and Arriva.
UniControls, a. s.
Since its establishment the company has been systematically engaged the development, production and installation of control systems and equipment in the fields of railway transport and industrial control, and has specialized in applications requiring high reliability in harsh working environments. In the field of railway transport UniControls offers complete delivery of control and diagnostics systems for rail vehicles and trains including their on-board communication infrastructure, information, security and advertising systems, telematic applications, energy and fuel consumption measurement and driver support.
